The "high-efficiency twin-screw supercharger" independently developed by Northern Power Technology Co., Ltd. recently passed full-load testing at the National Internal Combustion Engine Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, marking a major breakthrough in high-performance supercharging technology.
This supercharger utilizes a new symmetrical profile rotor design and a lightweight aluminum alloy housing, achieving a boost pressure of 0.8 bar at a low speed (1500 rpm). This improves response speed by 50% compared to traditional turbochargers, effectively addressing the problem of turbo lag. The product has been successfully installed in a high-performance domestically produced V6 gasoline engine and has completed vehicle durability verification.
Experts point out that superchargers have long been monopolized by European and American companies. This technological breakthrough not only enhances the competitiveness of domestically produced powertrains but also provides a domestically produced solution for high-performance passenger cars, special vehicles, and marine powertrains. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that it will support the establishment of a "Supercharger Industry Innovation Alliance" to promote collaborative research between upstream and downstream industries.
